LAS VEGAS, NV (TELECOMNEXT), March 21, 2006 - Critical Telecom Corp today announced a multi-year agreement with Falcon Communications, under which Falcon Communications will integrate Critical Telecom's GEmini Remote Ethernet DSLAM into its portfolio of broadband loop carrier (BLC) products. GEmini is the first of a new class of product that is designed for the marriage of fiber and copper anywhere in the access network. GEmini delivers non-blocking ADSL2+, 25 Meg, bandwidth to 24 or 48 subscriber ports, enabling applications such as Triple Play and IPTV.
"Our solid customer base has been built upon our portfolio of industry leading broadband loop carrier solutions," said Donald R. Cook, President and CEO of Falcon Communications. "Critical Telecom's GEmini remote Ethernet DSLAM is a natural extension of our existing product set as customers look to deploy new bandwidth intensive applications such as IPTV."
GEmini is the only Ethernet Remote DSLAM providing integrated GigE backhaul with a modular port scalability architecture. GEmini's physical "purpose built" design and Next generation bandwidth delivery offers high economic value and return on investment. GEmini minimizes stranded investment for future growth.
This flexible platform provides non-blocking ADSL2+ bandwidth using standards-based Gigabit Ethernet in a unique, physically small, shell that is environmentally sealed and hardened. Using standards-based Ethernet architecture and interfaces, GEmini ensures interoperability with existing Ethernet switches and routers. GEmini's processing engine has the power to enhance Layer 2 functionality with IP feature sets that enable intelligence to be distributed to the network edge when and where required.
"Critical Telecom is focused on penetrating the North American market with our broadband access solutions," said Nancy Macartney, President and CEO of Critical Telecom. "Falcon Communications technical expertise and experience in the outside plant made them a natural fit to partner with for delivering GEmini to carriers looking to deploy next generation applications such as IPTV."
Critical Telecom and Falcon Communications will be showcasing the GEmini platform at TELECOMNEXT in Las Vegas through March 23, 2006 in booth # 1370.
